Our apartment is in Alcossebre on the Costa del Azahar (Orange Blossom Coast) in the province of Castellon.The village has a population of around 5000 and is possibly the last genuinely Spanish area on the Mediterranean coast. This is the real Spain, mainly frequented by the Spanish but slowly becoming more popular with the few British that have discovered the area. A number of British families own apartments in our block This is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday.

Valencia airport is only approximately 1 hour away, you can book on line with Iberia, British Airways, Ryannair and Easijet. Reus airport 1 hr 30 mins, Ryannair now fly here with fares from as low as £1. Barcelona approx 2 hours, Easy Jet, Go and many other airlines fly here.

From the airports take the A 7 motorway at junction 44 take the N340 and follow the Signs to Alcocebre /Las Fuentes. Airport pick ups can be arranged.

Alcocebre and Las Fuentes offer many sporting activities both villages are situated right on the beach. There are two championship golf courses nearby, Club de Campo Mediterrano in Castellon or the Panoramica course near Vinaros. There is horse riding in las Fuentes and the river Ebro is 35 minutes away which offers superb fishing and bird watching.There are seven kilometres of beaches with E.C. blue flag aproval.

There are many restaurants and tapas bars in the two villages serving food from traditional Spanish to a small gourmet German restaurant. And although lacking in discos etc. the village has a lively atmosphere. There is an excellent Spanish restaurant 2 minutes from the apartment overlooking the Playa Romana beach. There are many small Supermarkets bakers butchers etc. as there are few package holiday hotels people self cater.

The local towns of Peniscola and Benicarlo are well worth a visit. The film El Cid was filmed in the castle at Peniscola, there are many excellent fish restaurants near the fish market. Vinaros is a working fishing port with again excellent fish restaurants.
